『猫を追うより皿を引け』

何か問題が起こったときに、表面的な対応をするのではなく、根本的な原因を解決することが大切だという意味のことわざ。

魚を盗む猫をいくら追い払っても、またすぐにやってくるため、根本的な原因であるはずの魚の乗った皿を移動させて解決しろということ。

日本アニメが世界的に人気が広がる中で、声優事務所などが「声の保護と多言語協会」を立ち上げた。

声優本人の声質のままで複数言語に吹き替える技術を活用した音声AIで、声優の吹き替え翻訳を支援するという。

現時点では海外での日本アニメは字幕が主流で、吹き替え版はコストが高くなってしまうため、人気がある一部の作品しか対応できていない。

そんな理由から、世界各地の現地語での吹き替えや字幕作品が正規ルートではなく、海賊版として出回っている現状が大きな損失になっていたり、声優や版権元の権利を侵害しているケースも多いとのことだ。

そこで、必要な対応は、海賊版を流通させる側を追及するような猫を追うのではなく、正規版を流通できてないという根本的な原因を取り除くことが重要になる。

日本国内でも声の権利を直接保護する法律がなく、「声優の声」が無断で使用されているという問題もある。

この問題にも、声優の声や吹き替えた音声のデータに電子署名を埋め込む技術も進化してきているため、無断使用された場合には追跡をするという対応もできるようになるらしい。

何事にも経費はかかるが、特にクリエイティブには多大なコストがかかっている。

それを軽々しくコピーする輩や無許可にAIで生成する海賊たちには、皿を引くような根本的で厳格な対策で対抗するしかないのだろう。

おサカナくわえたどら猫を追いかけるのは、陽気なサザエさんだけにしておきたいものだ。
